A New Chapter
Tsawwassen, BC
After years of having a backyard centred around a swimming pool, the homeowners were ready for something different. Their family had grown up, the pool was no longer being used, and with retirement came plans to travel more and spend less time maintaining the property.
LOREM IPSUM DOLOR
The goal was to completely rethink the backyard and create a comfortable, low maintenance outdoor space that would be easy to leave behind when travelling and enjoyable when they were home.
LOREM IPSUM DOLOR
Our team began by demolishing the existing swimming pool and surrounding areas. The pool was filled and the property was rebuilt to create an entirely new landscape, replacing a space dominated by an unused pool with functional areas for relaxing and entertaining.
LOREM IPSUM DOLOR
New paving stone patios provide generous outdoor living and entertaining space, while artificial turf creates the look and feel of a lawn without the regular maintenance. Low maintenance garden beds with river rock bring planting, texture and greenery into the landscape, while a gurgling rock water feature adds movement and the sound of water without the maintenance requirements of a larger pond or water feature.
LOREM IPSUM DOLOR
Coastal Shores also installed the irrigation and landscape lighting systems throughout the property. The irrigation keeps the planting established with minimal involvement from the homeowners, while the landscape lighting extends the use of the outdoor spaces into the evening and highlights the finished landscape after dark.

One of the biggest challenges was access. The property offered extremely tight working conditions, particularly for the demolition, pool removal and movement of the substantial amount of material required to fill and rebuild the site. Using compact Bobcat and Wacker Neuson equipment allowed our team to work within the restricted access and complete the extensive demolition and construction required to transform the property.
LOREM IPSUM DOLOR
What was once a dated pool that no longer suited the homeowners has been transformed into a comfortable, low maintenance outdoor environment designed around the way they live today.

For us, this project is a great example of how an existing property can be completely reimagined when the homeowners’ lifestyle changes.
